Emily joined Austin's Communication Station in July of 2015. She received her master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2011.
Emily is a certified Speech Language Pathologist and has her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. She also maintains her Texas state license.
Emily has always had a passion for children, and she has enjoyed being able to help them to overcome their communication difficulties. Upon graduating in 2011, she began working in the Putnam City School District in Oklahoma City, and remained there for four years. While there, she had the opportunity to work with many children between the ages of 3 and 12. She gained experience in the areas of autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, articulation and phonology, apraxia, cleft palate, fluency, swallowing, receptive and expressive language disorder, pragmatics, and auditory processing.
Emily was born and raised in Oklahoma. She moved to Austin in 2015 and has enjoyed getting to know the unique city. She loves to spend time outdoors, read, and watch and play sports.
